a hard time

Lately, I've been dealing with some crazy emotions/situations. To be honest, I'm not really sure why I'm feeling the way I am but I'd like to ask for prayer. I've never been a real strong person, emotionally or physically, so when things like this happen to me, I really struggle. Tonight, I'm really going to try to take some time to talk to God and ask Him for His guidance.

Thanks friends! I'm truly grateful for all of you--even if I 'know' you or know you! :)

Hero

This guy here is one of America's Heros, as well as mine.

His name is Seth Ostermann and he's my 1st cousin. Growing up, Seth and I would always hang out together whenever my family went to Sylvan Grove (small town where his family and most of my mom's relation lives or used to live). Several years ago, him and his family moved to Texas. My heart sunk. Sylvan Grove was never the same. It's such a small town and there wasn't anyone I could really hang out with so my days were either spent walking/riding my bike around the town or being stuck inside watching the 1 television my grandma had. Anyway....Seth graduated high school and went on to graduate from Texas A&M. Now, this is where I get confused cause I know he didn't sign up to be in the army but I think somehow thru A&M, he (and his older brother, Nate) got enlisted. I don't know. Not the point, I guess :)

Nate, his brother, went on to serve in Iraq a few years ago but hasn't been back since. Seth, however, is now on his second tour. He left last week to go to Afghanistan for awhile before heading on to Iraq. It makes me so sad to know he's over there but then again, I'm SO extremely proud and honored to call him my cousin. I automatically think that he'll be just fine and come back safe and sound. But then I also think that that's not always the case. The following pictures show off his personality to a T! If I were to ever go over and fight in a war, I'd want him as my 1st Lt. also! He's hilarious and can imitate ANYONE! I've seen him imitate anyone from Chris Farley's Motivational Speaker to laughing exactly like his mom. Love it!

If you would be so kind as to keep 1st Lt. Seth Ostermann in your prayers at night, I'd greatly appreciate it.

Thank God for all the men and women in the country who fight for our freedom! They are truly God's Blessings!

A Terrific Thursday

Well, we've had quite the busy Thursday! We (me and B-Man) started the day as we usually do on Thursday's--get up, lay around for a minute, get dressed, and head to Gramma Linda's! While Brogan was at my mom's, I went in to work, went tanning, and got back all in record time! We then met up with one of my best friends Nicole (or Nib as I call her) and her precious baby girl (aka Brogan's girlfriend) Kenadie. Brogan and I arrived at Nib's house a little early and hang out with Kenadie and her Gramma Sandy. As soon as Nib got home we loaded up the kiddos in my vehicle and headed to the house of one precious newborn baby boy, a hilarious 3 yr old little man, and a wonderful mommy, Sonja! Sonja is Nib's cousin by marriage and one of my good friends. She had little Walker Michael 2 weeks ago and I finally was able to make time to go visit! Oh and was he adorable!! It was so hard to believe that my sweet baby boy was ever that little...I always told myself I wouldn't forget how tiny he was, but it's hard to remember when they grow so fast! After we left Sonja and the boys, we headed to get some lunch. We picked it up and went back to Nib's to eat while the kiddos played some more. Since we didn't have a very healthy lunch (I'm ashamed to say we went to McDonald's) we went on a VERY long and beatiful walk! Nib has the best neighborhood to go walking in! I think it might become a Thursday activity for us! The walk wore us all out so after we left the girls, we ran one quick errand and headed home! Brogan is now, somewhat, taking a nap while I catch up on blogging, email, and laundry!

I hope you all got to enjoy this Terrific Thursday!

(Sorry for no cute pics from today...my camera had run out of batteries before I even got to take a picture. Dannngggg it!)

Not Me! Monday

Welcome to Not Me! Monday! This blog carnival was created by MckMama. You can head over to her blog to read what she and everyone else have not been doing this week.

My evenings last week were NOT filled with chasing my army crawling baby boy around my (NOT) freshly cleaned floors. Certainly I would NOT be calling him my make shift Swiffer :) Friday night I did NOT have a fantastic time with a great group of girls! I also did NOT drink a little to much red wine...I would NEVER do anything like that. Saturday, I did NOT refuse to shower and just put on a hat as I ran around...and with that, I did NOT take Brogan to my mom's to play while I took a 2 hour nap in my old bedroom! SO NOT deserved :) Sunday was NOT another lazy day! But this time, I did shower. I did NOT have my sister come over to play with Brogan so I could go run a couple errands babyless. This momma proceded to Dillon's where she did NOT spend $40 on babyfood ALONE! Oops :) At least Brogan will eat good for a couple weeks. The rest of the evening was NOT spent putting the baby to bed early (someone was a little grumpy) and spending quality time on the couch my hubbie and our pug!

What have you NOT been doing lately? Anything you need to confess to...? It's a great way to confess and NOT feel guilty :)

A List of Wishes

Some things that I'm really wanting to do today...

* Get my nails done! I used to faithfully get my nails done and it was such great way to feel oober girly. Well since being married, I haven't really had the chance to go get this done. Life happened and so did the bills! Hopefully this summer I can get around to getting them done a couple times...if not acrylic, then just a mani would be great! Oh and maybe a pedicure too! God knows I need one HARD CORE!

* Go swimming (in a very private pool)! No one needs to see this momma in a swimming suit but I would very much love to take Mr. B swimming on this hot June day! He LOVES to be in the bathtub so I wouldn't doubt he'd LOVE swimming in a big pool! (If anyone knows where I can get a good floaty thing for him to sit in, please let me know!)

* Take Brogan to the KC zoo! He'd love every minute of it...as would I ;)

* NOT BE WORKING!

* Spend some quality time as a family. Tommy's going to be very busy these next couple months so getting some family time in will be very important on the days he's home. I can't wait for Father's Day weekend! I'm taking some time off of work and we're hopefully going to go do some fun things as a fam!

* Go on vacation somewhere warm and beautiful!

* Hang out with my Amanda...I miss this friend a ton!!

* Clean the house with no distractions...weird, right? :)

This was a pretty pointless blog post but I just needed a break from work. There are days when I wish I was a stay at home mom but I also know that if that were to happen, I'd eventually go crazy! I love being able to work and get away from the house...maybe if I enjoyed my job a little but more, I wouldn't need to take a break to list things I'd rather be doing!

Anywho...for those of you not working, have a great sunny Monday!
