Fave Things From 2009

I've been reading lists the last couple days that people have made of their favorite things from 2009. I figured I'd join in!

Lindsey's Favorite (and new) Things From 2009:

*My new COACH purse(s)! I never thought I'd ever have one and in 1 weeks time, I had 2! Love them!

*Accessories! I've always loved jewelry but this year I have gotten around to buying more! I love big, chunky rings and need to get more necklaces/earings. I have also come to LOVE wearing scarves!! It might be my new obsession, besides shoes ;)

*Leggings/tights! I've never been one to wear a lot of dresses/shorts/etc. because I have the worst case of CHICKEN LEGS ever but I've come to realize that is how I'm built and that's how God intended me to look! So this last month or so I've worn cute, simple dresses (layered with long sleeves and I can also wear them this summer) with leggings/tights and my black UGG (ok, they're actually Bear Paw brand but still just as nice!) boots. I might look a little goofy but boy is it comfy!

*Glee! I am a Gleek. 'Nuff said.

*Brogan!!!!! He's my all time favorite 'item' from this year! He definitely keeps me on my toes, especially now that he's RUNNING everywhere.

*Coffee! This isn't anything new but man have I enjoyed it :)

*Sticking with caffeine -- Cherry Diet Dr Pepper or Raspberry Diet Coke (from Sonic, of course). Oh. My. Heavens.

*My friends! This year I have made some amazing new friends, reconnected with 'old' friends, and gotten closer to friends I've had. I don't know what I'd do without my girls (and boys!).

*And of course....my husband and my amazing family! I couldn't live without them!!!

Those are just some of my fave things from this year! I hope to find new things in 2010! I also hope to make some changes in my life or at least try to live better, for myself, Tommy, and of course Brogan. I'd also like to be able to wear a 2 piece bathing suit this summer ;)

Have a fun and safe New Year's Eve! We're going to Laughing Matters, an improv show at a local theatre! I can't wait!! See you there Moll Doll!! ;)

Bake Day!

Today is a start of a new tradition with my and my mama (and my Mr. Man!). I was lucky enough to have the day before Christmas Eve off work so we decided that today we would bake all our goodies! I really would like to try every year to take this day off so we can bake with Gramma! This year, Brogan will be strapped in his highchair (I'm sure...or running around playing with his toys and causing chaos) while us girls bake away! He'll also be our little taste tester. My oldest niece might be joining us as well! I cannot wait! I'll be sure to take pictures and make a list of everything we made! I am pretty sure I'll be wearing elastic-waisted pants today...hehe!

Here's hoping to a White Christmas!

"I can just HEAR you getting fatter"

(Excuse my quote from 'Tommy Boy'...I heart that movie!)

And here is how I'll gain back all the weight I've lost...and this isn't even HALF the stuff we've gotten. This is just this morning so far.

Oy. Shouldn't have eaten that second peanut cluster.

It's Almost Time!

I can't believe that Christmas is this week! I am so stinkin' excited! I've always been one to love giving gifts and I usually can't wait till the actual day to give them...I'm an early giver. But I've managed to hold out this year! I can't wait till tomorrow because 1) Tommy's TV should get delivered and 2) I'm going to bake goodies with my mom! Also, it's the first day of my 5 day break from work!!!!! WHOO! Thursday should be a low key day and then around 4 pm we're going to take Brogan to my parents church (the church I grew up in and where me and the hubbs got married) for the children's service or a birthday party for Jesus! After that, we'll be heading to Tommy's mom and step-dad's house for our Christmas with them and then we'll walk across the street to Tommy's grandma's house for Christmas with the rest of the family. We always have so much fun playing games and just hanging out. Hopefully we'll hook up the Wii and have some bowling matches! So fun! Christmas day will HOPEFULLY be slightly low key, compared to last year anyway. I can't wait to wake Brogan up on Christmas morning and watch him tear in to some presents!

I've devised a plan as to how I'm going to throw Tommy off of what his gift might be! I had already bought him some shirts so I'll wrap those up and put those under the tree. Then, in his stocking next to his candy and Burt's Bees Chapstick, there will be an opened pregnancy test box...hehe! I can't wait to see his face (I'll be sure to record it and hopefully get a picture or two). I figured I'd try to make him sweat it out a little and then hand him his envelope with the TV info in it! He's going to be sooooo relieved. After all the gifts are opened and breakfast is devoured, we will get ready for the day! We're going to Tommy's other grandma's house for lunch but probably won't stay to long cause one little toddler will NEED an afternoon nap! Then, in the evening we'll head over to my parents house! I love watching my nieces and nephew (and this year, my son!) open gifts!

This year, I'm wanting to start a tradition with my side of the family. After all the stockings are empty I want to have everyone write down on a piece of paper (obviously we'll help the little ones with theirs!) their hopes, dreams, goals, etc. for the next year. Then next Christmas, we'll read aloud what everyone wrote and start over. I'm not going to lie, I read this on another blog but I thought this was such a great idea and so much fun, especially with the kiddos.

I hope everyone has a very Merry Christmas!

Emergency 'D' Run

This morning my wonderful hubbie called me at work to inform me he accidentally forgot Brogan's binky (pacifier) or as Brogan calls it, his 'D', at home. He told my mom that at nap time if he really isn't going down to see if maybe he'd take a bottle nipple. I had called my mom to see how Brogan was doing and if he'd asked for his 'D' and she said he had. I told her to call me if it got bad and I'd run home to get it (I had planned to go home and get it at lunch anyway). Well about an hour and a half later, mom called. So I had to make an emergency 'D' run! My sweet boy was so sleepy and was not going down at all for a nap! He sweet little eyes were red and wet when I got there but he perked up when he saw what his mama had in her hand! That sweet boy :)

I asked the doctor yesterday if there was a way he suggested on breaking Brogan of his binky and he told us not to worry right now. If he does fine without it during the day, then just put it where he can get to it. If he cries for it, tell him that he can go get it if he wants it. I think this will work just fine for us! I'm not going to push breaking the habit right now and since he doesn't use it much except for nap/bed time or if he's unhappy (or in the car), we should be golden!

15 Months and he only weighs what?!?

Today Brogan had his 15 month check up and we were so curious as to how much he'd grown in the last 3 months. We thought surely he gained 5 pounds and grew at least 4inches. Well we were completely wrong. Our 15 month old only weighs 22 lbs, 14 oz. and is 32 inches tall. That's it. But no worries, he strong and healthy and has more energy than ever! He's just skinny like his daddy! Mr. Brogan did have to get 3 shots today and boy was he pissed! I got a picture of his crabiness when we were on the drive home. My poor baby. It absolutely breaks my heart when he has to get shots but thank God Tommy was with me this time. I had to do it all alone at his 1 year appointment. God bless our pediatrician and his nurses! They are awesome! And it helps that Tommy works in the business office there and they all LOVE Tommy so we get the special treatment when we go in! Love it!

Here is my big boy in the doctors office BEFORE his shots:

(sorry it's blurry!)

And here is my sweet boy in the car...still upset from his shots:

Tonight, this mommy will definitely be doing anything and everything to make her baby feel better!

All I Want For Christmas...

(I have a birthday post I wrote last Friday but haven't had time to take pictures for it...it'll be posted hopefully tonight or tomorrow!)

I just purchased my hubbie's last, and HUGE, Christmas gift and I still cannot believe I did it! I'm for certain he does not ever read this so I'll go ahead and fill you in on my secret.

My loving husband has wanted a new TV, specifically an LCD flat screen, for a LONG time! I definitely think he deserves it! He's going to be SOOOO stinkin' surprised! I got a pretty decent deal on it (or at least my friends who are BIG in to electronics told me so..hehe!) and it came with a $50 gift card as well, which will more than likely go in his stocking! My plan is to have it delivered the Wednesday before Christmas to my parent's house, to print off a picture of the TV, wrap it up and give that to him on Christmas morning. Then when we go to my parent's Christmas evening, we'll pick it up!

I think I might video tape his reaction when he opens his envelope Christmas morning! I have a feeling it'll be a look of shock and excitement! :)

Merry Christmas!

Decoration Pictures & Birthday!

I have been procrastinating putting my Christmas decoration pictures up because they aren't as fancy as some or I don't have as many as I'd like...but I decided to put up a few of my favorite decorations!

Also, today is my 26th birthday (O.L.D.) and I have had a great day! I had my hair done this morning! I decided I wanted to do something fun and cute so I put some red streaks in it! I'll try to get a good picture tonight and post it! After my hair apt, two of my best friends took me to lunch at Olive Garden! We had soup and sald AND dessert! Tonight, my sister in law is watching Brogan so the hubbs can take me to dinner! I'm not sure where we're going; I told him I wanted it to be a surprise! I've already gotten some cute gifts! I'll try to take pictures of those too!

Thank you to all my friends who have made today amazing! I love you all so very much! I am truly blessed to have such amazing people in my life!

Slow Tuesday

Today has been an extra slow day at work today and I have loved every second of it...except....

ALL THE STUPID PEOPLE!

Sorry, had to get that out :)

Tonight will be an evening of playing with my sweet little boy who loves his mama to pieces, possibly lighting a fire, curling up on the couch in my pj's and watching a Lifetime movie (12 Men of Christmas) -- all by myself. Tommy has to work tonight and as much as I want him home, I'm kinda excited to be alone for a bit after Brogan goes to bed! Otherwise I wouldn't get to watch my movie...stinkin' boys and their 'no Lifetime movies' rule! :)

Hope you all are having a great, snowy (if it's snowing where you are) Tuesday!

Bah-humbug NO MORE!

The past 2 days I've definitely gotten out of my funk! Praise the Lord! I was starting to fear that I was going to be a Scrooge this year. But that all changed!

I have been getting more in the Christmas spirit and it feels good! I still wish my house was a little more 'Christmassy' but I have to tell myself I have a lot more than some. And it's still fun! I am getting excited to finish my Christmas shopping, although I need to 1) find the time to go and 2) get my next paycheck..haha! My favorite part of Christmas (besides the true reason for the season) is watching my nieces and nephew (and this year, my son!) open gifts! To see their sweet smiles and eyes get huge is a great thing...and to know that Santa still exists, warms my heart :) I am so excited to be Santa this year and for years to come! I'm not, however, excited for the day when I hear 'Momma, is there no such thing as Santa?' UGH! But I have a few years before that, right? ;)

I'm excited for the next few weeks! There is SO much going on! Tonight is our December Dishing Diva's and I can't wait! I always have so much fun when we get together and tonight will be no different! I'm sure we'll laugh a ton and of course enjoy some tasty dips (that's our food of choice this time) and maybe play some games! We also have to celebrate one of our Diva's great news...SHE'S ENGAGED! We're SO excited for her and I know I can't wait to hear all about it AND of course, see her bling! Yay Katie! I am SO excited for you sister!

Tomorrow, I am going to lunch with my sister, going to Molly's Holiday Open house, birthday party, and relaxing!

Next week is FULL of fun-ness (if that's a word!): my nephew's Christmas program (I LOVE watching all those little kiddies sing and dance!), getting my hair done and possibly going to dinner for/on my birthday, shopping at Legend's with my mom and sister, finishing up Christmas shopping...and the list will probably get bigger!

Oh and another part of Christmas I love....getting Christmas cards! I sent mine out this week.

Here's a picture of my nails! I HAD to get festive! (Sorry for the crappy picture...it's with my phone!)

Loves to you all! Have a super great weekend! AND STAY WARM!

Here's to a better mood!

I've been slacking on my blogging lately...I just haven't known what to write. Or I have a MILLION things to say, I just can't put my thoughts in to words.

But I will say HAPPY DECEMBER EVERYONE! I love this time of year and it makes me sad that I'm slacking on getting excited! I've decorated our house at least and I've been listening to Christmas music to help get me motivated! I'm hoping after today (the 2nd day of some sort of funk I'm in) I'll pep up and be ready to go!

So...here's to a great December and better moods!

Oh and...I've been wanting a new camera lately since mine is slowly starting to die (or at least it's acting like it!). Any ideas or suggestions? I want something small and easy but takes great pictures!

Tuesday, I'm thankful for...

Today, I am thankful for this little guy!

He's my best little buddy! We have so much fun together and he's definitely gotten to be a mama's boy...but I don't mind :)

Monday, I'm thankful for...

My blogging friend Ashley is blogging everyday this week about something she's thankful for! And I decided to copy her :) Thanks Ashley!

On this Monday (but it's actually Tuesday...oops!) I'm thankful for this...

My happy little family! I love them SO much and I couldn't imagine my life without them!

Hero (re-post)

This is an old post but I wanted to post it again.

Hero

This guy here is one of America's Heros, as well as mine.

His name is Seth Ostermann and he's my 1st cousin. Growing up, Seth and I would always hang out together whenever my family went to Sylvan Grove (small town where his family and most of my mom's relation lives or used to live). Several years ago, him and his family moved to Texas. My heart sunk. Sylvan Grove was never the same. It's such a small town and there wasn't anyone I could really hang out with so my days were either spent walking/riding my bike around the town or being stuck inside watching the 1 television my grandma had. Anyway....Seth graduated high school and went on to graduate from Texas A&M. Now, this is where I get confused cause I know he didn't sign up to be in the army but I think somehow thru A&M, he (and his older brother, Nate) got enlisted. I don't know. Not the point, I guess :)

Nate, his brother, went on to serve in Iraq a few years ago but hasn't been back since. Seth, however, is now on his second tour. He left last week to go to Afghanistan for awhile before heading on to Iraq. It makes me so sad to know he's over there but then again, I'm SO extremely proud and honored to call him my cousin. I automatically think that he'll be just fine and come back safe and sound. But then I also think that that's not always the case. The following pictures show off his personality to a T! If I were to ever go over and fight in a war, I'd want him as my 1st Lt. also! He's hilarious and can imitate ANYONE! I've seen him imitate anyone from Chris Farley's Motivational Speaker to laughing exactly like his mom. Love it!

If you would be so kind as to keep 1st Lt. Seth Ostermann in your prayers at night, I'd greatly appreciate it.

Thank God for all the men and women in the country who fight for our freedom! They are truly God's Blessings!

I figured today would be a great day to repost this, since it is Veteran's Day! I'm so proud of my cousins and of everyone I know/knew who have ever fought for our freedom! I found out recently that Tommy's uncle, whom he's named after, actually died while serving his country (I forget which war...Vietnam maybe?). I knew he died young but I always thought it was due to illness (we don't talk much about it cause it makes everyone really sad, that's why I didn't know).

One busy 3 day weekend!

This post will be mostly pictures but I'll do a quick recap first! Friday I was able to get off work early to head over to my parents house for a small 1st birthday party for my niece, Avery! It was a blast and we even let Brogan stay up 1 hr 45 minutes past his normal bedtime! :) Saturday was a great day! We lounged most of the day and around 4 pm we loaded up our Monkey and started our Trick or Treat rounds! We went to Tommy's dad's house first, then on to my parents to meet up with my nieces and nephew, off to Tommy's aunts house where we met up with our cousins, and then ended at Tommy's mom's house! Whew! We left Brogan there so we could have an adult evening! I had our very last show and it was a late one! Tommy dropped me off and then headed over to the Halloween party (I met up with him after the show). The party was a blast!! Sooooo many fun costumes (I didn't take in my camera so I only have before pics of us girls getting ready at the theatre). Sunday after we got to sleep in (WAHOO!!), I went and got our little Monkey from Grandma's house. Again, we spent the day playing and lounging until it was time to leave again! We headed back over to my parents house. I had asked my dad to rake a pile of leaves in their front yard so I could get some cute pictures of Brogan playing in the leaves!! HE LOVED IT! Tommy and I had tickets to the 'So You Think You Can Dance' tour last night so we left our Bean with Grandma and Grandpa! We had a blast! We ate dinner at a Mexican restaurant in Power and Light and then headed over to the Sprint Center. Oh. My. Word. This was by far the best thing I've been to in a long time! Our seats were amazing and so were the performers! We were in awe the whole time! Again, I didn't take my camera because I was afraid they'd tell me I couldn't take it in and make me take it back to our car. Tommy tried to get some on his phone but the backlighting was so bright they didn't turn out the best. But at least we got some! Today, I took off work so I slept in and have been cleaning the house! Something I haven't done in about 2 months! I'm taking advantage of having an empty house by getting stuff done but I'm getting antsy to see my boy so I'll probably go get him pretty soon!

Hope you all had a fantabulous Halloween weekened! Enjoy the pictures!!
