Not Me! Monday

Welcome to Not Me! Monday! This blog carnival was created by MckMama. You can head over to her blog to read what she and everyone else have not been doing this week.

At work on Friday, I certainly did NOT search for what seemed like hours on YouTube for Michael Jackson videos to pay tribute to the one and only. I am a hard worker and would NEVER dwirp (I just made that up!) around on the internet. Friday night, me and Molly did NOT go see a great movie (My Sister's Keeper...a must see!) and cry our eyes out like the big babies we are. We are SO much stronger than that! And I did NOT enjoy every minute of my time away from reality!

Saturday morning I did NOT wake up extremely early (for a weekend anyway) to hit some garage sales...which by the way, were quite disappointing. I did, however, NOT come home with a few good finds for my baby boy. And on Saturday, I did NOT shower...true story. Yikes!

Sunday was NOT spent being extremely lazy and I finally did shower. I did NOT leave my baby in his crib playing after he woke up from his 1 1/2 hr. afternoon nap so that I could fully wake up from MY nap (and possibly lay there a little while longer!). I would NEVER think I deserved such a thing!

What have you NOT been up to lately? Anything you feel you need to confess...? I know you have something! :)

Give me a break, Give me a break...

For the last 9 months I have been working full time on top of being a mommy. I have loved every minute, trust me! BUT...I NEED A BREAK! Not that my wonderful husband doesn't help, cause he does, but for one evening (or day) I just wish I could disappear and do my own thing without having to ask for it. I'd just like it offered to me (sounds kinda dirty...hehehe). Maybe someday...when Brogan graduates high school (typed with a sarcastic tone) :)

I am, however, going to go see a 'cry your eyes out and sob in public' movie with one of my bestest friends tomorrow night...but of course that's after dinner, bath, and bedtime. But at least I'm getting out!

Just to make clear, I love my life, my baby, my husband, my dog, etc. and I wouldn't give them up for anything....well, maybe a quiet bubble bath and a glass of wine ;)

Splish Splash!

Last night was the first time Mr. Brogan went swimming! He absolutely loved it, which didn't suprise me cause this kid LOVES his bath time! I made sure to get him a float toy he can sit in so we don't have to hold him the whole time. The little stinker loves to get in and out, in and out! Since there isn't much more to tell, I'll just let you enjoy how stinkin' cute he is :)

*These are pictures from tonight's swim adventure...I took pictures with my mom's camera last night and haven't gotten those yet. But when I do, I'll be sure to post them!*

(Wonderful) Wordless Wednesday!

9 Month Stats

Brogan had his 9 MONTH check up today....9 MONTHS!!! Can you believe it? I have a post-n-progress about him being 9 months but I haven't finished it yet. It's actually hard to write because I'm so emotional over the fact that he's 3 months away from being a year old! Now, don't get me wrong...I'm so excited that's he growing up and that he's turning into a stunning little boy, but what momma likes it when her baby is growing up? Anyway...back to his stats! This child is going to be EXACTLY like his daddy, in every way I'm sure! He is in the 95% range for his height: 30 inches; and he's in the 25% range for weight: 18 lbs. He's long and lean! Which is funny because this kid loves to eat! He just is constantly moving (seriously, no lie) and therefore he burns off all the fat. If only we could all be so lucky :)

Pray Hard!

If you read this, please please please say a prayer for my friends. They are expecting a baby in October and they just found out late yesterday that there might be something wrong. They didn't get the voice mail till later in the day so by the time they called the doctor's office, they were closed. So now my friends have to wait a very long Father's Day weekend to find out Monday if there is something wrong with their baby.

PRAY HARD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

98* Walk

Two posts in one day...WHOO! Me and one of my best friends, Nicole (or Nib) took the babies on a walk today! That's right, in 98* weather! We're crazy, I know. But they were well hydrated, shaded, and cool. They loved it! And it wore them out enough to take awesome naps! I took a few pics before and after of those crazy babies...or the lovebirds as we refer to them as! They will grow up and either be the best of friends or get married. We love it! Enjoy the pics of these lovely babes!

Brogan pulled his comforter off the side of his bed and this is how I found him during his nap time...silly boy!

My Very Own UFC Fighter

I think my son has more scrapes and bruises from this last week then Tyson had after a any fight! Teasing of course! But in all seriousness, Brogan is starting to really explore and is getting awfully brave. On Saturday, me and my sweet boy were rolling around on the hard wood floor (on top of a blanket but that doesn't do much does it?) and I might have been getting his tickle spot REALLY good and he was laughing so hard he smacked his head! (Owie #1) Then Monday Tommy picked Brogan up from my mom's and on the way home stopped by his (Tommy's) dad and step mom's house. They have the nicest black lab named Buddy who apparently wanted to love on Brogan while they were visiting. Brogan came home with a pretty good scratch REALLY REALLY close to the corner of his right eye. Buddy went to lift his paw and put it on Brogan's face and I guess his nail caught his skin and left a scratch. (Owie #2) I guess Brogan got a little upset but was fine soon after...thank goodness! I hate when that little boy gets hurt :(

Here comes the brave part of the story....Brogan is really starting to pull up on everything, not just to his knees but now to his feet. As excited as I am about him growing up, this makes me very nervous! I thought maybe we'd be OK with the pulling up phase--ya know, maybe it lasting a little while before other things happen. Well, tomorrow Brogan pulled himself up on a little kids picnic table at my mom's house and proceeded to climb on to the seat of it. After my mom called to inform me of this, I thought that would be the extent of his adventures. Not the case. When I came to pick him up yesterday evening, my parents told me how he got up on the seat again then climbed up on the top of the table and was trying to crawl over to their window seat (the table was up against the window seat making it very simple to get to). SERIOUSLY!?!? So if those last few days weren't enough...last night Brogan pulled himself up on Tommy's pant legs and was standing there waiting to be picked up. He was teetering forward and back when he finally lost enough balance and fell over smacking his chin on his toy bike. (Owie #3)

So...now my brave little climbing, dare devil of a son has a bruise on his forehead, a scratch on his eye, and a scrape on his chin. I know this is only the beginning but I'm NOT excited to see what comes next. And, please also note that I'm not one of those mom's that try to bubble wrap their baby so they don't get hurt...cause I'm not! I just really hate seeing him get hurt and cry...as any mother would :)

If my camera had charged batteries, I totally would post a pic of his sweet beat up face. Maybe I'll try to get that done tomorrow or Friday!

Have a good evening my readers!

a hard time

Lately, I've been dealing with some crazy emotions/situations. To be honest, I'm not really sure why I'm feeling the way I am but I'd like to ask for prayer. I've never been a real strong person, emotionally or physically, so when things like this happen to me, I really struggle. Tonight, I'm really going to try to take some time to talk to God and ask Him for His guidance.

Thanks friends! I'm truly grateful for all of you--even if I 'know' you or know you! :)

Hero

This guy here is one of America's Heros, as well as mine.

His name is Seth Ostermann and he's my 1st cousin. Growing up, Seth and I would always hang out together whenever my family went to Sylvan Grove (small town where his family and most of my mom's relation lives or used to live). Several years ago, him and his family moved to Texas. My heart sunk. Sylvan Grove was never the same. It's such a small town and there wasn't anyone I could really hang out with so my days were either spent walking/riding my bike around the town or being stuck inside watching the 1 television my grandma had. Anyway....Seth graduated high school and went on to graduate from Texas A&M. Now, this is where I get confused cause I know he didn't sign up to be in the army but I think somehow thru A&M, he (and his older brother, Nate) got enlisted. I don't know. Not the point, I guess :)

Nate, his brother, went on to serve in Iraq a few years ago but hasn't been back since. Seth, however, is now on his second tour. He left last week to go to Afghanistan for awhile before heading on to Iraq. It makes me so sad to know he's over there but then again, I'm SO extremely proud and honored to call him my cousin. I automatically think that he'll be just fine and come back safe and sound. But then I also think that that's not always the case. The following pictures show off his personality to a T! If I were to ever go over and fight in a war, I'd want him as my 1st Lt. also! He's hilarious and can imitate ANYONE! I've seen him imitate anyone from Chris Farley's Motivational Speaker to laughing exactly like his mom. Love it!

If you would be so kind as to keep 1st Lt. Seth Ostermann in your prayers at night, I'd greatly appreciate it.

Thank God for all the men and women in the country who fight for our freedom! They are truly God's Blessings!
